LIMPOPO PROVINCE, MODIMOLLE: Koro Creek Bushveld Golf Estate a center of attraction with so many golf enthusiasts flocking the venue to take part in the annual Kudu Amateur Golf Championship. The premier annual flagship golf event which is more of a social event took place from the 18 th until the 20 th November 2021.
Koro Creek Bushveld Golf Estate is an exclusive Golf development situated in the historic town of Modimolle (formerly known as Nylstroom) in Limpopo Province. Kudu Amateur Championship gave teams the opportunity to compete over three days for the converted trophy to be crowned Limpopo Kudu Champions for 2021.
Since its inception in 2016 the event has seen a significant growth with golfers from various parts of the province and neighboring provinces descending in the small town of Modimolle to proof and perfect their golfing skills. David Riddle Distributors are the event organizers of the event and have been doing this for years now.
“Next year we are coming back again to the Kudu Amateur Golf Championship and I hope we can double the number we had here this year. We want to invite you to invite others next year to grow this event. I was so grateful in the day to meet a pair of golfers from Malelane in Mpumalanga who came to compete in this tournament for three days. What pleased me was the fact that they knew about this event from our
social media platforms. This gives us hope that our marketing efforts are coming to fruition and Limpopo Tourism brand is growing in bounds. We should also get together when we launch the Limpopo Golf Passport in January 2022”, said the CEO of Limpopo Tourism Agency, Mr. Moses Ngobeni.
Koro Creek Golf Course is a 6825-metre par 72 championship course featuring four tee boxes on every hole to accommodate every level of golfer. The 860-hectare nature reserve alongside the estate is going to be incorporated into the estate allowing wildlife to roam free and it is situated close to the beautiful Nylsvley Nature Reserve that is home to over 400 bird spices. Visitors can enjoy close encounters with wildlife
on the 18-hole golf course or the game reserve because there is always something for everyone with so much more to enjoy.
The organiser of the tournament Mr. David Riddle thanked every golfer who participated at the 2021 edition of the Kudu Amateur Championship and said, “We are so excited as partners with LTA to stage this great tournament. We wish to applaud Limpopo Kudu Amateur Golf Championship a Resounding Success 2021Page 1 everyone who participated in this tournament as they contribute to the growth of this sport in the province. I am also pleased that LTA is still a partner since the inception of this event. Thank you for sticking with us but also for growing tourism in the
province”.
While this was a social event, several players walked away with some prizes from the Kudu Amateur Golf Championship trophy to bunker rake. The best pair and winners of the tournament that won the trophy and the Caddie bags were Messrs Andrew Dipela, LTA Board Chairperson and partner Jacob Phala scoring the most points over the three days of the tournament. Mr. Dipela who could not hide his excitement indicated that
their combination as a pair was complementary as that helped to gain more points to eventually make them winners. I also want to thank everybody who participated in this tournament as that will help sustain this sport in this part of the country with such beautiful golf courses”.
