Day 1:
Fly from OR Tambo International Airport to Polokwane International Airport. Visit Bakone Malapa open museum and explore the living culture of the Bakone people and proceed to Magoebaskloof via Moria (Headquarters of the Zion Christian Church) – one of the biggest churches in Southern Africa with a membership of more than 5 million. Visit Debengeni Waterfalls within the scenic and breath taking Magoebaskloof Pass believed by locals to be inhabited by water spirits. Over forty species of indigenous trees are found in the area. Drive to Coach House Hotel for overnight accommodation via the Sapekoe Tea Estate and sample a cup of fresh tea at the tip of the Pekoe View.
Day 2:
After breakfast, drive to the domain of the legendary and mystified Modjadji Kraal, an area declared a national monument in 1936 for the exploration of the unique culture of the Balobedu people and a view of the Modjadji cycads (Encephalartos transvenosus) – a large concetration of unique single species of cycads in the world protected for three centuries in the Royal Gardens. Lunch will be served at the Modjadji African Ivory Route Camp. After lunch, drive to Thohoyandou for overnight accommodation via Baleni Saltpan. After dinner, enjoy the legendary Domba dance performed by the Vha-Venda. Overnight at Protea Hotel.
Day 3:
After breakfast, drive to Phiphidi Waterfalls for the Venda legendary explorations and proceed to Polokwane for a flight back to Johannesburg via Elim. Lunch will be served at Makhado Town.
